Arguementive essay

There are many people that could have killed Wellington. Only one person stands out in my mind and that is Mr.Boone. There are different reasons why he could have killed Wellington. He had no Alibi, he's said and done things to lead me to believe that he killed the dog.



The dog belonged to Mrs.Shears, whos husband had an affair with his wife. Mr.Boone was probably really angry and killed the dog! The fact that she left him for Mr.Shears made him mad and upset, so his only idea to get back at him was to kill the dog. Yes I know that it was two years later, but that could have been the exact day two years ago that his wife left him. Also, maybe Mr.Boone and Mrs.Shears started having sex after their spouses left them. He probably took his anger out on Mrs.Shears dog


Mr.Boone told Christopher to stop investigating the murder. He knew that his kid was smart, so he knew that he would figure out that he killed Wellington! He is trying to cover up that he killed the dog. It did not mention where Chris' dad was at the time of the murder. His dad also told him that they were not friends anymore. He had told him that around the time wellington was murdered. He usually doesn't describe in detail what he isn't allowed to do, but this time he did.


The Red Herring could have been when he said to Chris "Best to let sleeping dogs lie" Jackie had told me about this and I thought about it and it could have hinted that Mr.Boone killed Wellington. Chris might figure out why he said that later on in the book. After he had said that when his partner was over they kind of laughed it off. Mr.Boone really didn't care about Wellington. So I think that is a hint towards Wellingtons murder.


I am very convinced that Mr.Boone killed Wellington, he has done and said things that lead me to believe it. It was easy to think of these, because he kind of made it a little obvious. Him and Mrs.Shears aren't friends anymore, no one knew where he was on the night of the murder, he made Chris stop investigating.

This song reminded me of how I try to fit in. Some times I work too hard to fit in, and some people like me. But as it says in the song "do you like you?" A lot of the times I don't. I've been bullied since grade 6.  So as the song says: "you have to try." and that is exactly what I am going to do. I thought I had to change myself, who I was, what I believed in and what my values and morals were. Then through all the bullying I listened to this song and it changed my mind completely. Now I am myself which is all that matters. 

Relationships Essay

Relationships back then seemed different than they do now. They saw love in a different perspective than we do now. There are many perspectives of relationships, some people think different things about relationships!

Lovers and crushes is a great type of relationship to have. If you have known someone for a while and you have this feeling or nervousness when your around them, or you blush, or your hands get all clammy and your heart starts racing, that means that you either love them (not in love, but love) or you just have a crush on them. In Romeo and Juliet when Romwo first saw Juliet, he said he was in love. Back then in Shakespearean time lovers and crushes relationships seemed different. Once they saw someone beautiful, or handsome, they thought they were in love. Nowadays, when that happens, your not in love, you just find them attractive. If you have known someone for awhile and you start falling for them, that could be love, or just a crush. When Romeo says 'Juliet is the sun' he is meaning that she is beautiful, like the sun and that she lights up his world. It could also mean that she`s warm and bright!

It's pretty easy to argue with this topic, but lovers and crushes, and parents are pretty important in teenagers lives. The most important relationship out of the two are lover and crush relationships. If you don't have a lover and crush relationship, that means you won't be ready for the future. You may not know what to do when you get a boyfriend or girlfriend. It might be embarassing to ask a friend and maybe you feel uncomfortable asking your parents. So, that's why I think crush/lovers relationship is important.  




Relationships with parents is a little more difficult. Teenagers think that their parents don't get them and don't get what their going through. Parents do get it though, they were a teenager once as well. Juliet didn't want to marry Paris but her dad made her. When she told her dad she didn't want to marry Paris he said:

I tell thee what: get thee to church o' Thursday,
Or never after look me in the face:
Speak not, reply not, do not answer me;

Her dad was saying that if she did not marry Paris on Thursday that she would not be able to live with them and that they would disown her as their child. 

Today, parents and children would usually talk it over, and if the bride doesn't wanna marry the groom they don't have to. Unless it's a business marriage, then the bride has no choice.  

So, relationships back then are pretty different from what they are now. They are very important relationships in teenagers lives. Those relationships make you feel special, and loved.  

Essay starter

B) There are a wide variety of relationships in this play including lovers, marriages, parents/kids, cousins, friendships, and religious.

Intro: From Romeo and Juliet, the relationships in that best represents teenagers nowadays, are lovers/crushes, parents, and friendships. There are good and bad things about all of these. 

1: lovers and crushes definitely represent teenagers nowadays. Especially in high school, that's what some people think about A LOT. Many things to do with love and crushes happen in high school. You may think you found your love, you could have, but also, they could end up breaking your heart into a billion pieces. 

2: With the whole parent relationships, there is so much of that, there can be a love hate relationship, just love, and just hate. There are many of those out there, they can cause kids to run away, and start going against their parents wishes. 

3: Friendships, is a huge thing. In elementary school, when you think you find your best friend, that will definitely change in high school. Everyone changes in high school. It doesn't matter if you think you didn't, you did. You loose your best friends most of the time in high school, over the stupidest things too. But, good things about friendships? There are so many of those too. You have some one to talk to when you need someone, you have a shoulder to cry on. 

Essay topic

A) Romeo and Juliet is widely considered one of the greatest love stories of all time. Decide if Romeo and Juliet's love is "real". Provide specific quotes from the play, use "real world" or personal examples, as well as any research on biology or relationships you do to support your position. Can we define love? Are there different kinds of love? Is one better or more "real" or valuable than another? Why? Is committing suicide for each other romantic? Can it "true love" in the middle and NOT romantic in the end?
That is the topic that I am doing. I am doing this topic because it reached out to me. I think that it was real love. No one has ever done that for each other. So to me, I think it was real love. Even though she was 13, and Romeo was 17-18, it could have been real love.


We don't know for sure, but that is definitely my opinion!

What is love

Dear Diary:

"Why, such is love's transgression , griefs of mine own lie heavy in my breast, which thou wilt propagate  to have it pressed with more of thine.
This love that thou hast shown doth add more grief,  to too much of my own.
Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs, being perged,  a fire sparkling in lovers'  eyes.

I hate love. Love makes me lose my mind! Why did Rosaline refuse me? I have wealth, looks, and everything a girl needs, but she says she wants to remain chaste! Benvolio  says that I should look else where. He said and I quote
"By giving liberty unto thine eyes:
Examine other beauties."
I guess he wants me to forget fair Rosaline and pay attention to other women out there. It's really easy for him to say this, because he has not been in love, only lust. I don't think I can leave her. Love is truly a beast hiding inside the sweet form of love.

Well I must go now Benvolio, and Mercutio have cooked up yet another scheme! I shall see whether  I laugh or frown. I bid thou adeu for now.

Dear diary,

Today I crashed the Capulet party. I went for Rosaline, but I found a new beauty. Her name is Juliet,  she is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.
"Oh she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night as a rich jewel in an Ethiopia ear, beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear. So shows a snowy dove troop in with crows, as yonder lady o'er her fellow shows:
the measure done, I'll watch her place of  stand
And, touching hers, make blessed my rude hand.
Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight,
For I never saw true beauty till this night."

I have never loved before, I know now that what I felt for Rosaline was nothing but lust. Juliet is my one true love.

If I didn't have Juliet then I wouldn't know what love really is. I would still be hung up on Rosaline and still not having a chance with her. I would probably want to die. I wouldn't even want to be hung up on Rosaline. That would be too much! 

Love, is an amazing thing. I desire a girl who loves me, and who wouldn't mind having sex with me. "I have not yet stabbed her with my knife." 

With my other relationships, I have not really been in love. All I wanted from Rosaline was her, and her chastity! 

I need love, that is what I need. If I need to, I will put love before family and friends. She is the one I really need, no one else!

Mid term

For the first 25%, I am here every day and on time as well. The only time I use my iPod is when we need it and before class starts. I contribute to the class conversations that we have. I do research when I need to, and contribute as much as possible. I have tweeted so far as much as I thought I needed to for Romeo and Juliet. For this section I think I deserve a 25/25. 

For the total assignments handed in, I only handed some in late because I forgot to say that my work was in the comments in the conversation. For the rest of the assignments I have handed them in, and they have been on time too. For this section I think I deserve a 20/25.  

The next section is the quality of my assignments. I put my best effort in my assignments. I put thought into my work and. Don't just rush through it to get it done. My assignments probably aren't as good as others in the class. I'm not that great at english but I try my best some people are better at english. From the blogs that I have read, I think the best that I have read is Chris's. He puts a lot of effort into his assignments, and for our class conversations he has good contributions. My favourite assignment of his that I read was his Tattoo assignment. He seemed to put a lot of effort into it, and it seems like a great tattoo. I could have put more  work into mine, like him. 

For this section I think I deserve a 20/25

For the contributing to classmates and this class, at my table I helped Anu with her google docs literary term. She did not know how to post the link to her post on the Google docs and she was getting worried so I helped her post the link. 

I haven't commented on a lot of people's blogs, but I will definitely start commenting more. I contributeto class   discussions pretty well. I could contribute more, but I think I'm doing pretty good. I think I deserve a 20/25

So right now, out of 100 im at a 85. So I think about 80-85%. 

Walt Whitman

I think that he wrote it about a girl and a guy he liked. For the girl, he could have done something about it. He could have gotten to know her, he could have asked her out, they could have dated and all that cute stuff. 

But for the guy, he couldn't have done anything about it. Back then, they probably didn't allow gay, lesbian or bisexual relationships or marriages. So even thought he most likely had stronger feelings for the guy. Since he knows he can't do anything about his feelings for the guy he tried to keep them inside. Or he tells the guy, and the guy feels the same way, but someone finds out and then they can't see each other anymore. 

In this line : Passing stranger! you do not know how longingly I look upon you,

 I think that means that he's seen them before, and he might have developed feelings for a girl, or a guy. 

Should he be content?

No I don't think he should be content. He doesn't have anyone to have a healthy relationship with. To make you content or happy, you usually need people around you that care about you. That's what I need to make me happy. Even though he didn't have any family to be there for him since his dad was abusive and his mom couldn't do anything because the same thing was probably happening to her as well, maybe even worse. He could have found someone that he could have tried to be close with someone. 

Another reason is because he is an alcoholic. Nobody really wants to be an alcoholic. Maybe because his dad was an alcoholic he decided that's how he was going to live as well. It wasn't a good choice but that was his choice. 

Another reason probably could be that he grew up in poverty and poor, that's how he decided to grow up and live his life now. As Abi said in class, it could also be because this all was better than going home to his mom and dad. 

Tattoo assignment

The reason I chose this tattoo that I would like is because I share the love of  dance with 3 important people in my life. My sister Cassandra, my best friend Madisan. I met madisan in grade 3, and we clicked instantly, we've both always loved dance. We're going to be doing a dance together at my dance studio year end show together and we are on the Junior Jazz team this year! 

My sister, we have both loved dance from a young age. I started when I was in grade 5 at our dance studio Dance Excel. By she has been there since it opened. And she graduated from the studio last year, and she's been with the studio for about 10-12 years. This past year was my 5th year with the studio. 

When I was in grade 7, our dance studio, we all went to Disneyland and danced In the parade! And the most amazing experience ever happened this past summer. Our studio, all of us, we went to New York, and we danced on Broadway through dance the magic, which was the same company that we did Disneyland through. But New York, Broadway, that's amazing, and me only being 14. That's crazy! I still can't believe it! We danced at the Minskoff theatre where the Lion King is produced. And where I want the tattoo. You ant really see it in the picture. But I would like it on my forearm sideways, near my wrist.

Hmm, what do I tell my parents about how I'm doing in English 10. Well, you can read my blog, and see what I have done, and my assignments. You can also read other people's blogs in my class and compare my work to theirs. We don't have a grade or percent yet. We will get that when we get our report cards. Well I think i'm doing good! I'm good with this new concept! I have handed in all my assignments to the best of my abilities. I am trying my hardest because I do like english. It's a really fun subject. I am putting in the effort, my hardest is my hardest. Nothing is confusing so far. Shakespeare, if we do it then that will confuse me a lot. Because Shakespeare is very confusing! But so far I think I'm doing good. 

Extended metaphor

I chose to do an extended metaphor in a song. The song I chose is Firework by Katy Perry. In the first 3 lines:

That like in space when you ended someone you have no one. When you scream no one can hear you.

She is saying that you are worth it, and that you are a firework. 

In the song, she explains that, you might feel alone, and that you are not worth it and that you have no one to go to, but you really do. You are worth it, you are a firework, you light up the sky, to let your colours burst. You will leave them falling down, you will leave them in awe of you. You need to show them what your worth, because you are not worth nothing, you are definitely worth something. :)

Myers-Briggs Personality test

NENFP really describes me. It's really cool how this pretty much shows what personality you are, and what jobs your could have, and the cool celebrties that have the same personality type as you! Extroverted, I got so much percentage on that. That one is so true! Ntuitive, is really true because I do feel what the right decision or what ever. Feeling I do go withy gut feeling most of the time. If I want to do something but I don't know if it's right or not, if my guy says it seems okay, I do it, but if it says it seems unsafe or not right then I don't do it. Perceiving I do take things as they are! If some changes the plans, I'll be like what ever, but I just hate it when people change the plans last minute. I'm so easy, I go with the flow. One of my favourite famous people that have the same one is Robin Williams. My favourite fictional character that I have is Ariel! I can be many things I like as a job.

What it's like being a teenager.

Being a teenager is super hard, especially in high school. You have to try to fit in. Girls call you sluts and bully you. I go through that with my best friend. My parents seem like they are strict comparing them to my friends parents. I know they do the things they do because they love me, but sometimes I would love for them to let loose a little bit. Yes school is fun but it can also be horrible. Some of the days I'm happy, smiling walking around the hallways in my classes. Then the other times, I'm sad and I don't wanna be here. I do not have a job, but I would love to get one. I would like to make money by myself and not have to ask my parents or save up birthday and Christmas money. I get plenty of sleep at night. I go to bed at 10 and with pleasing wake up at 6:30. I have as many friends as I need. I have girl friends and guy friends. They're all so amazing and there for me when I need them. It may seem like we have it easy. But we really don't. Having to please or parents with good grades, please our friends. It's hard. With getting good grades and pleasing my parents, I try so hard in school but they don't believe me. I do my work and I try hard and focus in class, but sometimes they don't think I'm working hard enough. With pleasing my friends, I want do the things they like even if I don't, but sometimes I can't, so I just walk away and do my own thing. In high school, you here that you get pressured to dondrugs and drink alcohol but I haven't been so I don't know what people are talking about. Some people may be pressured, but I never have. Being a teenager is hard as you can tell, I do but don't wanna grow up. It's great being young, but I wanna get out of high school! 

Me and English

It was in about December, i wanted to read The Fault In Our Stars, and we had a day off. So i read it in 7 hours straight, no breaks. My mom brought me food if i needed some. It was an amazing book and an amazing movie too! The characters were well developed, and so well described. The plot was amazing. The ending was like oh my gosh...i cried so muchhh. It was so detailed and amazingggg! I don't have a lot to stay about it, just that it was so amazing. Such an amazing book!
